Selected papers will be invited to submit an extended version to be published in a special issue of Fire Technology.

The Journal of Structural Fire Engineering will also be inviting selected papers to be submitted in extended form after the conference has ended.

Best short presentation and best poster awards

The Journal of Structural Fire Engineering are sponsoring the best short presentation and the best poster award at SiF2020. The awards will be based on audience voting, and will include a certificate, a cash prize and a 3 month subscription to the journal.

Best presentation and best student presentation awards

The International Association of Fire Safety Science (IAFSS) are sponsoring two awards; best presentation and best student presentation at SiF2020. The awards will be based on audience voting, and will include a certificate and a cash prize.

Conference Themes

For reference, proceedings for all prior versions of the International Conferences on Structures in Fire may be found here. The focus of the conference is on the research and developments in behaviour of structural fire engineering. The themes below may include work performed in modelling and/or experimental studies.

  • Applications of structural fire engineering
  • Concrete and masonry structures in fire
  • Steel structures in fire
  • Composite structures in fire
  • Timber structures in fire
  • Passive fire protection materials
  • Numerical modelling of structures in fire including full frame behaviour
  • Material behaviour and characterisation at high temperature
  • Novel structures and/or materials in fire
  • Non-standard fire scenarios in structural fire engineering
  • Other experimental research related to structures in fire
  • Probabilistic design methods in structural fire engineering

Any other topics related to the art, science and practice of structural fire engineering.
